Stories Come To Life Near Chatham Homes At The Mac-Haydn Theatre

Come see a show close to Chatham homes at the Mac-Haydn Theatre. Doors opened at the Mac-Haydn way back in 1969 creating a community theater with quality artistic productions. Indeed since its beginning, one great hit after another has graced this Chatham real estate stage. The 2016 season continues the trend with a top of the line calendar.

Summer shows include traditional musicals such as South Pacific and Chicago, mixed with some newer collaborations like Into The Woods and The Addams Family. South Pacific is a prime example of classic theater that never gets old, and a perfect opportunity for those who call it their favorite to share its wonderfulness with newbies to the theater. The timeless tale of romance and social strife that guides it along still stands true today. Another well loved musical is the vibrant and volatile Chicago. With “All That Jazz” and “Cell Block Tango”, toes are kept tapping and hands clapping time and time again. Into The Woods will have the audience on edge as it follows Cinderella, a young couple seeking a child, a witch, and Jack selling his cow all into the depths of a dark forest. Of course calamity strikes creating a suspenseful and eerie scene. Most remember The Addams Family as icons from television. Although they are not necessarily the neighbors most want living next to Chatham homes, their lives were quite interesting and do make a marvelous and amusing story for the stage.

Kids love to follow in the footsteps of the elders they adore, and with the Children’s Theatre at the Mac-Haydn they can. Upcoming shows for the Children’s Theatre include the traditional fairy tales of the Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel and the ridiculously silly Seussical.

A complete calendar listing and ticket information is available at the Mac-Haydn Theatre. Go see a show today!
