1890 Big Red Kill Road, Fleischmanns, NY 12430

Property Description

Set along coveted Big Red Kill Road in the Denver-Vega Valley, 10 beautifully maintained acres (with the possibility of subdivision) unfold around the Red Kill Stream, with mountain views, open meadows, woods, a substantial barn, and a completely renovated compact home. The Red Kill runs through the lower portion of the property, offering trout fishing and multiple private swimming holes. A mown path winds from open meadows down to the stream banks, for easy access. The top of the property offers expansive lawns with sweeping Catskills mountain views, with plenty of room for gardens, animals, trails, gatherings, or simply enjoying the landscape. The two-bedroom, one-bath mobile home was taken down to the studs and completely rebuilt and renovated, creating a comfortable, compact house with a front deck overlooking those mountain views as you grill your dinner or sip your morning coffee. The barn is in excellent condition with eight horse stalls, 100-amp electric, plumbing, well connection, hydrant, and skylights. Use it for horses, a workshop, studio, gear, or whatever country life requires. The property is an interesting investment as the ability to subdivide, offers many possibilities. Build your dream house and keep the existing home as a guest house, create a compound, or simply enjoy what is already here: 10 acres, private water access, mountain views, and a very good barn and comfortable home. Plattekill and Belleayre ski mountains are both just minutes away, with nearby DEP Forever Wild lands offering miles of open space for hiking and hunting. Margaretville, Roxbury, and Fleischmanns are close by for coffee, groceries, farmers markets, and some very good restaurants. And when city life calls, NYC is roughly 2.5 hours away, close enough for the weekend, but far enough to actually feel like you left the hustle and bustle behind.
